Spiritual Direction is a spiritual practice with roots in ancient Christianity where together, we listen for and discern God's love, care and desire for you. Kate's approach to Spiritual Direction is spacious & relaxed; like coffee date with God in the midst of daily life. The hour is warm and welcomes your deepest questions and longest longings.

As a spiritual director, Kate's role is to come alongside others on their journey with God. She is gifted and trained to: listen well, ask curious questions, make observations, and give encouragement- all without judgement or bias. Sessions often include prayer, silence, big questions, deep emotions and wonderful a-ha moments with God.

Those who come for Spiritual Direction at Truly House typically identify as one or all of the following: 1) deconstructing Christianity; possibly experiencing a change in their beliefs, spiritual practices, or image of God. 2) are overcoming religious trauma and are rediscovering/in search of their own identities & a more authentic relationship with God. 3) are seeking God's purpose & direction as they go through one of life's transitions; perhaps experiening a loss of a carreer, loved one, community, sense of identity, etc. God generally feels "near, but far" during these seasons of life. Because of this, it can be incredibly comforting to have a spiritual director to “go with you” to offer comanionship & a discerning ear. Spiritual Direction at Truly House is trauma informed, queer-led and fully LGBTQ-affirming. All are welcome regardless of race, gender, sexual identity, denomination or stage of faith.
